Obituary of Clayton Byrd

BYRD, Clayton age 82 of South Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Bethesda North Hospital.  Born October 26, 1936 in Clay County, Kentucky, Clayton was the son of Clay J. and Amanda (nee Hacker) Byrd and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.  Clayton was a retired machinist from the Durion Corporation in Dayton, Ohio and enjoyed bluegrass music, fishing and most of all his grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Dolores (nee Kelley) Byrd in 2013; brothers Clarence and Charles Byrd and sister Gertie Turner; Clayton leaves behind his children Randy (Jan) Byrd of Oklahoma and Linda (Walter J.) Bates of South Lebanon, Ohio; brother Maynard (Barbara) Byrd; sisters Sophie Schoonover, Julie Roberts and Mae Margaret (Clyde) Nesbitt; grandchildren Ashley Byrd-Wilson (Kenson), Heather (Brandon Barnhill) Byrd; Kody Byrd, Travis (Courtney Calvart) Bates and Brittany and Nathan Justice; great-grandchildren Trenton Sol Justice, Paris McKenna, Lucas Jay, Grace Lynn and Alexis Cheynne and many other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 5pm until 8pm at the Pentecostal Temple of South Lebanon, Ohio.  Funeral services will be held at the church at 10am Friday, September 6, 2019 with Pastor JR Sargent officiating.  Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery, South Lebanon, Ohio.
