Obituary of James W. Stump

Stump, James (Jerry) (Stumpy) age 68 of Oregonia, Ohio passed away Wednesday July 31st, 2019 from cancer. Jerry was born February 05, 1951 in Kenton Ohio to Rayburn Gale and Emma Stump (nee: Smith). He loved his family, tractors, and mowing grass with his granddaughter that he called squirrely girly. He enjoyed anything they did together. He worked for Oeder & Sons Sand & Gravel for 18 years after which he was forced to retire due to the onset of cancer. He missed all the owners and his co- workers tremendously. He started his career driving a truck when he was 18 years old.  He also worked for Phillips Sand and Gravel, Don Thompson Excavating, and Gerdes Turf Farms throughout his career.

 

Jerry was preceded in death by his father Rayburn Gale, his mother Emma Stump (nee: Smith), sister Sheron Stump, and his son Jason Stump. Jerry leaves behind his loving wife of 41 years Lynn Stump of Oregonia, Ohio; his sons James Stump of Oregonia, Ohio, and Jesse (Lyndsey) Stump of Lebanon, Ohio; his grandchildren Lianna Stump, Aubrey Bedwell, and his best little buddy Kaydence Stump; his brothers John (Pam) Stump of Spring Valley, Ohio, Dennis Stump of Xenia, Ohio, and Andy (Christie) Stump of Kettering; his sisters Carolyn Sears of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Jeannie (Jim) Volkenand of Navarre, Florida; and many other family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.

Being an Aquarius, he was a free spirit and has been set free.
