Obituary of Alex Thomas Gilbert

GILBERT, Alex Thomas age 90 of Lebanon passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at his home. Alex was born June 24, 1928 in Hazard, Kentucky to James and May (nee: Chandler) Gilbert. Alex was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Norma, Mona and Grace, and his grandson Brandon Gilbert. Alex served his country proudly in the United States Navy and enjoyed watching sports, but especially loved watching UK Basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. Alex also loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. 

Alex is survived by his sons Charles (Jan) Gilbert of Morrow, Ohio, Ron (Pam) Gilbert of Lebanon, Ohio, Bob (Angie) Gilbert of Springboro, Ohio and Billy Gilbert of Middletown, Ohio, brother James Gilbert Jr., sisters Naomi and Billie Jean, grandchildren Courtney, Alicia, Travis, Heather, Scott, Tyler, Hannah, Ben, Jacob, Joseph, Abbey, and Luke, great-grandchildren Austin, Tori, Taylor, Lexi, Molly, Savannah, Sophie, Shane, Seth, Frankie Mae, Crew and Vivie, as well as many other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 11 am until time of services at Noon, all at the Stine-Kilburn Funeral Home. Pastor Ray Phillips officiating. Interment to follow in Miami Cemetery in Corwin, Ohio.
