If there is one singular memory that I have of Aunt Ruth it is her devotion to family. Throughout my adult life I would randomly receive call from her asking how I was doing. She was always sweet always interested in what I had say and always wanted to know if I was going to church. As I got older got married to Kate had girls Rory and Gwen her calls were a little more frequent. Now she had a whole family to ask about. Since Kate was from Ohio Ruth and Dick also came to a number of events hosted by Kate’s family. Not to mention the time they drove a camper all the way to Maine to to attend our wedding. Or the time I drove all night with them to make it to Diedre’s wedding in Boston. Ruth and Dick were always up for the adventure and the family. To my Aunt to my dads sister you will be missed.
Love

Dear Mark, Dwight, Loren, Craig, Nathan and families,
I have nothing but the fondest memories of your mother-Aunt Ruth as she will ever be for me.
In particular, I will always remember her love, warmth and hospitality of holidays while I was at IU.
And I will always remember and cherish a car ride from Westerville to Bloomington where the two of us sang hymns the entire trip. May her loving and generous spirit continue to sustain you.
Love,
your cousin Mona

"Uncle Dick and Aunt Ruth" is how they were known at our house, especially to our one-and-only son. We also remember games of Hugger Mugger - in fact they gave us theirs when they left Papua New Guinea. I remember Ruth's help editing a cookbook our ladies' Bible study was putting together to help raise money to subsidize Papua New Guinean ladies who wanted to come to our annual retreat. And her contagious conviction of the importance of prayer. Our loss is Heaven's gain. May you all be comforted by beautiful memories, and by the confidence that Ruth - and Dick - are in Heaven eagerly awaiting your arrival.

Fond memories of summers spent in Ohio at bible camp and helping out in the Beadle garden. Laughing at Uncle Dicks bad puns and feasting on fruit pies. Always generous and with an open heart, Aunt Ruth made you feel welcome and loved.

The thing that I most appreciated about your Mom and Dad was their help
in the last stages of preparing the Baruya New Testament. They didn't do
anything on that, but they kept us sane at that time of intense pressure.
Huggermugger was one of the things they used. Their cheery presence
was a tremendous help. We have very warm memories of them.

What a wonderful woman and what a wonderful life. Thank you Aunt Ruth for all the great memories and the selfless giving. Thank you for the Sunday mornings, the camping trips, the home-cooked meals, the welcoming smiles, your open arms - all the little things that showed your love. We love you too. Rest in peace.

Our sympathies go out to you and your family in the loss of your mother. We knew her and your dad well in our years with them in Papua New Guinea. Both of your parents were so friendly and helpful in everything they did. All found of our children attended the high school at Ukarumpa where your parents taught and my wife served with Ruth in the high school library. They always had a good time together.
We all knew your dad also was so resourceful and helpful in so many practical ways. He had a way to solve every problem and we appreciated a missionary with common sense!
They will be missed, but certainly never forgotten. I’ve passed this news along to our Ukarumpa family and to our HR team with Wycliffe. Our prayers are with you as you have the burial and memorial service.
Soli Deo Gloria!

Both your dad and mom were like grandparents to our children, while we worked in Papua New Guinea. I am from Mansfield, Ohio - we formed a bond by being from the same area. They reminded me of my parents. Your mom and I was in a prayer group together, when we were in the process of adopting two brothers. Thanks so much for sharing your parents with us. They meant a lot to us.
