Patty, I don't know if you realize how much you and Carl have meant to me over the years. Your love for Jason meant so much, as did all the help you gave me and him. Carl was a wonderful, loving man who gave so easily and selflessly to everyone and anyone. I was so happy to hear that he got saved and baptized when Jason and Kim were there. We will see him again. I know Carl wouldn't want me sad, yet I still greive. Some people become the cornerstone of the foundation which you build the rest of your life upon. Carl taught me so many different things about life, love, loss, gratitude, honesty, truth, and loyalty. Words cannot express how meaningful both he and Patty have been to me over the years. Great people, with hearts like theirs, are diamonds in the rough. And I know Carl enjoyed a nice excavation every now and then, but his greatest find was Patty who loved him and honored him all these many years. Carl's second greatest love was his family, of which, all who knew him were forever changed. Carl was selfless, humble, and the most genuine human being I have ever known. I consider our family lucky to have had Carl and Patty both in it. And to those who are hurting now, I ask God to heal your heart. Realize our flesh is a selfish flesh that will miss, and grieve... but our hearts should rest easy in letting go. Carl's life carried a message to each person that he met, leaving an impression on untold hearts. His work here on Earth was done. And our family has one more guardian angel to do from Heaven what he did here on Earth, which is to look out for and protect the ones he loved those who so deeply loved him in return. Rest in peace Uncle Carl. I will never forget the beauty you helped bring into my life and the joy you brought to all those around you. Thank you for everything.
