Obituary of Edith Yvonne Burgess

BURGESS, Edith Yvonne (nee Brown) age 80 of Kettering, Ohio and formerly of Lebanon, Ohio passed unexpectedly November 5, 2018 at her residence.  Born April 6, 1938 in Owensville, Kentucky, Edith was the daughter of Robert and Hazel (nee Donathan) Brown.  Edith was a 1956 graduate of Germantown High School and a retiree with 36 years of service from DESC.  Following her retirement, Edith worked for many years for Borcherding Buick.  Edith was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and a longtime member of the Moraine City First Church of God.  Preceded in death by her parents, son Brian Burgess, daughter Kim Howard, brother Robert Brown and sisters Betty Kerrigan and Dottie Setters; Edith leaves behind her loving children William C. Burgess III of Xenia, Ohio, daughters April (Derrick) Reed of Dayton, Ohio and Brenda (Bill) Lewis of Middletown, Ohio; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 12, 2018 from 11am until time of service at 1pm with Pastor Donald Curtis officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lebanon Cemetery.

The family appreciates memorial donations that are directed to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.

The Moraine City First Church of God located at 5867 Springboro Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45449 will be hosting a reception following the interment.
