Obituary of William F. Hughes

HUGHES, William F. age 83 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully at the Atrium Medical Center Thursday, June 21, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.  Born September 7, 1934 in LaFayette, Indiana, William was the son of Samuel and Helen (nee Powell) Hughes and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  William was a graduate of Jefferson High School in LaFayette, Indiana and Purdue Unitversity.  William was a retired insurance agent but many may remember him as a WCKY newscastor or from announcing at the LaComedia Dinner Theater.  William enjoyed playing the banjo (ragtime), fishing, boating, camping, watching baseball and football and spending time outdoors.  Preceded in death by his parents, son Dennis Hughes and brother Michael Hughes; William leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years Connie (nee Powell) Hughes of Lebanon, Ohio; sons Thomas Hughes of Florida, James Hughes of Arizona and Craig Hughes of Lebanon, Ohio; daughters Pam (David) Carney of Tennessee and Patricia (Allen) Linthicum of North Carolina; sister Martha Persaud of Idaho; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
