Obituary of Verlin William Foltz
FOLTZ, Verlin W. age 86 of Lebanon, Ohio passed away May 30, 2018 at Atrium Medical Center. Born January 23, 1932 in Elkhart, Indiana. Verlin graduated from Elgin High School in Elgin, Illinois in 1949. He completed college at the University of Illinois with a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry with high honors. Verlin served his country in the armed services for the United States Army from 1954-1956 in Korea. From 1967-1975 he served for the village of Springboro in various capacities. In 1993 he received the Armco Iron Man Achievement Award. After 31 years of service as a Senior Research Chemist and Safety/Health Program Manager, Verlin retired from Armco Research. Verlin was a member of the American Chemical Society for 61 years. Preceded in death by his parents (William & Velma Foutz), wife Lois (Memaugh) and siblings (brother Riley Foltz and sister Merilyn (Foltz) Tansil, daughters Dorothy (Foltz) Rapp, Judith (Foltz) Widener. He is survived by his daughter Jean Deuser (Gary), son Wayne Foltz (Sandy), daughter Brenda Foltz, step daughter Tara Everett (Jeffery), step son Michael Handy, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 10am-11am at the Miami Cemetery Chapel in Waynesville, Ohio with funeral service to follow at 11am with burial to follow in Miami Cemetery.
