Obituary of Leo Herbert Harsh

Harsh, Leo Herbert age 96 of Lebanon, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday, February 12, 2018 at Otterbein Community. Born December 23, 1921 in Cairo, Ohio, Leo was the son of Lawrence and Dottie (nee Walls). Leo was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, singing in the choir his entire life, enjoyed woodworking, playing the saxophone since he was 13 years old, volunteering in churches, walking, biking and traveling in his motor home. He was a member of the United Methodist Church for 46 years.  Preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of 50 years Sarah (nee Sawmiller) Harsh and sister Jean Anne (Herman) Roby. Leo leaves behind his loving wife Erma (nee Pratt) of Lebanon, Ohio; son, Steven (Diana Hoffman) of Plain City, Ohio; daughters Susan (Dennis) Cafferty of Durham, North Carolina and Nancy (David) Emnett of Clarksville, Ohio; grandchildren Matt Harsh, Joshua  Fiebiger, Sarah Baker, Joanna Ezuka, Debbie Lawrence and Joy Holman and 12 great-grandchildren; five half brothers and sisters, and many relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at Otterbein Community Lebanon on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 3:00 PM. Private graveside will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Leo’s memory to Otterbein-Lebanon Benevolent Fund 580 N. State Route 741, Lebanon, Ohio 45036. Arrangements in care of Stine-Kilburn Funeral Home.
