Obituary of Betty Jean Rooney

ROONEY, Betty Jean (nee Bowman) age 88 of South Lebanon and formerly of Dayton, Ohio passed peacefully December 7, 2017 at the Otterbein Retirement Community.  Born October 26, 1929 in Hickory, North Carolina, Betty was the daughter of Poley C. and Claudia (nee Hahn) Bowman and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Betty was a retired inspector with the General Motors Company and enjoyed shopping and dancing.  Preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Joe Rooney in 1994 and sister Colleen Stork, Betty leaves behind her loving children Garry Dale (Tina) Rooney of North Carolina and Brenda (Roger) Havens of South Lebanon, Ohio; sisters Christine Stevens of Hillsboro, Ohio and Annie Liggett of Arizona; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  The family will receive friends Monday, December 11, 2017 from 10:30am until time of service at 12:30pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Dayton Memorial Park, Dayton, Ohio.
