Obituary of Lorna Renay Lopshire

 Lorna Renay Lopshire, a 23-year resident of Lebanon, Ohio, passed away on the morning of November, 8, 2017, after a year-long battle with Endometrial cancer.  Lorna was born on September 22, 1950, in Kendallville, Indiana, to Laura (Leitch) and Donald Herendeen. She moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1977, Lansing, Michigan, in 1986, and southwest Ohio, in 1992. She was an autoworker until 1980, and then worked in the telecommunications industry from 1980 until her retirement from AT&T in 2014. On July 7, 2006, Lorna was granted Project Management Professional Certification which she kept updated until her illness.Lorna is survived by her husband, Ronald Lopshire, her sisters Linda (Evert) Smith and Carol (Jerry) Alexander, her daughters Michelle (Paul) Smith and Christina (Chris Steele) McElhoe, granddaughters Abigail, Miriam and Grace, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, and brothers Larry, Ronald and Alvin Herendeen.Lorna loved decorating her house for Christmas with lighted Christmas trees in every room, and hosting an annual Christmas cookie-baking party the first Saturday of December, with her very close friends Martha, Marjie and Bobbie, and several guests over the years.A memorial service for Lorna and her friends and family will be held on Friday, November, 17, 2017 at 11:00 am, at United Methodist Church in Lebanon with visitation for an hour preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so are asked to make a donation to his or her favorite cancer charity.  The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of Dayton for all of their loving and compassionate care.
