Obituary of Charles Marvin French

FRENCH, Charles Marvin age 81 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Bethesda North Hospital.  Born April 30, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Charles was the son of Charles Greene and Gladys (nee Anderson) French and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Charles served his country proudly in the U.S. Army.  Charles was the owner and operator of Charley French's Autorama for 17 years and Pursley and French Auto Sales for 4 years.  He enjoyed racing standard bred horses from 1969 - 2006 at the Lebanon Raceway.  He enjoyed playing golf, cards, fishing and traveling to Canada, Florida and Gatlinburg.  Charles was in the Butler County Softball Hall of Fame and a member of the United States Trotting Association.  Preceded in death by his parents, Charles leaves behind his wife of 40 years Patricia (nee Herman) French of Lebanon, Ohio; sons Bradley (Olivia) French, Michael (Gina) Reed and Scott (Amy) Reed; grandchildren Kaylie and Chase French, Niki Gulick, Mandy Salcedo, Justin, Brandon, Sami, Cassie and Nicholas Reed ; great-granddaughter Gia Gulick and many other family members and friends.  The family will receive friends Friday, September 15, 2017 from 5pm until 7pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 7pm at the funeral home with his longtime neighbor Jim VanDeGrift officiating.
