Obituary of John R. Villars

VILLARS, John R. age 82 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Friday, May 19, 2017.  Born July 10, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio; John was the son of William Ross and Mary Alice (nee Plymire) Villars and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.  John was a retired dispatcher with the NCR Company in Dayton, Ohio and served his country proudly in the Air National Guard.  John was an active member of the Urbancrest Baptist Church and his passion was farming, vacationing and spending time with his grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his parents and loving wife Revilla (nee Browning) Villars in 2010, John leaves behind his son Richard Wayne Villars of Beavercreek, Ohio, daughters Becky Hickey of Bonham, Texas, Joy (Greg) Harris of Knoxville, Tennessee and Roxanna (Jim) Gambrell of Aiken, South Carolina; sisters Irma Jean Palmer of Mason, Ohio and Carol Wells of Indana; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  The family will receive friends Thursday evening, May 25, 2017 from 5pm until 7pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 7pm with Reverend Tom Pendergrass officiating.  Burial will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10am in the Clarksville Cemetery, Clarksville, Ohio.   The family appreciates memorial donations that are directed to one of John's favorite charities - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
